12 days Uganda safari

01Day 1: Arrival – Kampala transfer

Upon your arrival, you will be picked up from Entebbe international airport and head to Kampala at your selected lodge for lunch. After wards you will have a city tour to the Uganda museum, Namugongo shrine, and Kasubi tombs among others. Return for dinner and overnight at Sheraton hotel/ golf course hotel/ the lodge.

Day 2: Kampala –Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will take a scenic drive to Murchison Falls National Park with lunch en route or branch off to Ziwa rhino sanctuary that gives an opportunity of viewing the rhinos at a closer range. Reach Murchison falls national park with a visit to the top of the falls for a remarkable sight and sound of the Nile crushing through a narrow gorge. Dinner and overnight stay at Para safari lodge/ Nile safari lodge/ Red chili rest camp.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

After a cup of tea, set off for an early morning game drive to the northern part of the park where you will spot a number of elephants, buffaloes, hunting dogs, giraffes, bushbucks, hyenas among others. Return at your lodge for late breakfast, relax at the swimming pool as you wait for your lunch which will be followed by a tremendous boat cruise along the calm Victoria Nile and at the base of the falls for sightings of the hippos, crocodiles and over 20 unique bird species such as the goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hornbills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. Dinner and an overnight stay at Para safari lodge/ Nile safari lodge/ Red chili rest camp.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National park

Enjoy  your breakfast this morning and after wards set off for a quick drive to Kibale forest national park via the Albertan Escarpment of the western Rift valley to fort portal through country side beautiful homesteads, farms and shadows of Rwenzori mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at Ndali Lodge/ mid range chimp’s nest/Budget mountains of the moon.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park

Wake up for a heavy breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about chimp tracking. This will be followed by searching these great habituated apes which will also enable you view other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, baboons, Bush babies and many more as your guide provides more information about them. After lunch, you will have a nature walk to Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a number of birds and rare flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight at day 4

Day 6: Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast, you will take a visit to the crater lakes region and after wards transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park with a wide game view en route for animals like elephants, buffaloes, leopard, hyena, and leopard among others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / jacana safari Lodge/ samba safari lodge.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will wake up for a cup tea and there after meet your guide for an early morning game drive that reward sightings of wild animals like the  buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, lions among others. Return at your lodge for late breakfast and after lunch, enjoy a breathtaking launch drive along the kazinga cannel that gives good views of hippos, crocodiles buffaloes and birds like African fish eagle king fisher, herons, blue turacco and many more. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / jacana safari Lodge/ samba safari lodge.

Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, you will have a visit to Maramagambo forest for a view of the bat and hunters cave, blue lake and other wild game like the black and white colobus monkeys among others or alternatively you can go for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge. Return for lunch and later in the afternoon, transfer to Ishasha sector known as the alluring region for tree climbing lions. Dinner and night stay at Ishasha wilderness camp.

Day 9: Ishasha – Bwindi Forest National park

After breakfast, you will have a brief game drive which will be followed by a transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National park with lunch en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/ Silverback Lodge (Mid range)/Buhoma community bandas (Budget).

Day 10: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, assemble at the park headquarters for briefing by the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Continue for the memorable activity in an evergreen forest that may take 2-8 ours depending on the movement of the primates. Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to your Lodge for lunch and relaxation. You may then go for a community walk to the batwa where you will enjoy their cultural dances plus stories of their unique culture. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp (Luxury)/ Silverback Lodge (Mid range)/Buhoma community bandas (Budget).

Day 11: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover at Igongo cultural museum rich with western cultural heritage plus views of banana plantations, kisoro hills and many more along the way. Reach early enough for lunch which will be followed by game drive to see to the burchell Zebras, statungas, impalas, gigantic eland antelopes the list is endless. Dinner and overnight stay at, Mihingo Lodge, or Arcadia cottages / Mantana tented camp/Rwonyo rest camp.

Day 12: Lake Mburo National Park –Kampala

After your breakfast, you will have a brief morning game drive so as to explore the fabulous wild animals with in the park such as the burchell Zebras, statungas, impalas, gigantic eland antelopes and many more. Afterwards check out with your lodge and set off for journey to Entebbe for your flight back home. Enjoy royal drum makers and various homesteads along the way.
